Calpe is a beautiful coastal town on the Costa Blanca, located 63 kilometres from Alicante. Thanks to its excellent climate that prevails throughout most of the year, its delicious gastronomy, its natural environment, and its fabulous beaches bathed by the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, Calpe has become a very popular town to live in all year round.
Calpe is known for its numerous beaches of fine sand and turquoise waters, where you can enjoy all the comforts, as well as for its beautiful coves, much more intimate and cosy. Here is a list of the best beaches in Calpe, where you can unwind and relax.
La Fossa Beach
With all the facilities and services it offers, La Fossa beach is ideal for spending the day with the family. We should point out that it has been awarded Blue Flag status. It is Calpe’s main beach, known for its good swimming conditions, as well as for its clean and calm waters. It lies beneath the Penyal d’Ifac, a natural park rich in vegetation and a variety of wildlife, and is bordered by a promenade with a wide variety of entertainment options such as bars, shops and restaurants. Access to La Fossa beach is well signposted and free parking is available nearby.
Arenal Bol Beach
This is the largest beach in Calpe, and is located next to La Fossa beach, at the other end of the Penyal d’Ifac, and very close to the port. It is famous for its long stretch of fine golden sand and its calm, crystal-clear waters. It is located next to the long and lively Infanta Elena promenade, which offers all the services and entertainment options to spend a whole day at the beach, such as restaurants, cafés, shops and bars.

El Racó Cove
This is a small pebble cove at the foot of the Penyal d’Ifac. From this cove starts the Príncipe de Asturias ecological promenade, a beautiful paved promenade next to the Penyal d’Ifac from where you can enjoy spectacular views. Apart from the views, El Racó cove is also known for its calm waters, and for the underwater path marked with buoys and informative signs, ideal for scuba diving. The cove has all the essential services.
Morelló Cove
This is a small urban cove that takes you back to ancient times, as it is home to the site known as Baños de la Reina (Queen’s Baths), a type of natural pools from the Roman period that were formerly used as thermal baths and fish farms. Its waters are shallow and calm, transparent, and the cove has all the advantages of being located next to the Infanta Elena promenade.
Calalga Cove
This is a beautiful, quiet cove, with transparent, shallow waters, located to the north of La Fossa beach. It lies at the foot of a steep ramp that descends between cliffs, so the views are extraordinary. Its turquoise waters and rich variety of underwater life and vegetation make this cove ideal for diving and snorkelling enthusiasts, although it is also perfect for a swim.

Les Bassetes Cove
This quiet cove with crystal clear waters is next to the marina, and has spectacular views of the Penyal d’Ifac. It is perfect for those who enjoy the sound of the waves breaking against the rocks, as well as tranquillity and comfort, as it is secluded, and also for scuba diving and snorkelling enthusiasts.
Gasparet Cove
This exotic cove made up of gravel and pebbles sits in a practically virgin spot, accessible only by sea, making it an excellent choice for those who want to enjoy the serenity of a more remote beach. Those who like a bit of adventure can reach it by kayak or by boat.
Cantal Roig Beach
It is a small but very beautiful beach, made of golden sand and sheltered from the wind and currents. It is located next to the port of Calpe, so you can see all the boats arriving after a day’s fishing. As it is a quiet, urban beach, it is ideal for spending time with the family.

Mallorquí Cove
Following the Voramar path you will reach a staircase with access to this marvellous cove, an almost secret place to admire the views of the Penyal d’Ifac, and enjoy a swim in its crystal-clear waters.
Manzanera Cove
This is a small cove located in a very relaxing environment with a low level of occupation. It is characterised by its transparent waters, its pebbles and the extensive Posidonia meadows that make it ideal for snorkelling.
