Still don’t know what to do this summer? Valencia is one of the destinations where you can make the most of the long days and the Mediterranean atmosphere during the summer season. Beaches, parties, culture, nature… We tell you some of the best plans in Valencia for summer. Enjoy!
Summer cinema in Valencia
Summer nights are great in Valencia, a city that always has something to offer at any time. Summer cinemas in Valencia are a great option and you have many to choose from. For example, the Centre del Carme Cultura Contemporània (CCCC) has inaugurated a summer cinema season that will run from August 3 to 31.
One of the most special is the Filmoteca d’Estiu, with the magnificent setting of the Palau de la Música Gardens and films that never fail. It runs from August 4 to September 2. Not to mention the drive-in movie theater at Pinedo beach, which takes us straight back to the 60’s.
In addition, there are many other night plans in the streets of Valencia, such as dances in the bars and nightclubs of the Carmen neighborhood or live music that is scheduled in various parts of the city, such as the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
Visit the Valencia Coast
Much of what Valencia is is due to its coastline. 135 kilometers dotted with endless beaches, cliffs, coves and towns where life revolves around the sea.

No less than eleven beaches make up the coastline of Cullera, one of the best known towns on the Costa de Valencia. Choose between the most accessible and great for a family day out, such as San Antonio, and others that are quiet and of great environmental value, such as the beach of Dosel. There is also room for naturism, in the beach of Mareny de Sant Llorenç.
Gandía is a favorite destination for young people in search of fun and endless hours on the beach. But it is much more than that: between the sea and the mountains, Gandía is quite a discovery: tourist infrastructures for all tastes, cultural and gastronomic heritage, a quiet city committed to sustainability, natural areas such as marshes, river landscapes, dunes… and a medieval layout with important historical remains.
And Canet de Berenguer, together with Puerto de Sagunto, has one of the best beaches in Spain. Dune chains, ecological value, tropical palm trees, 1250 meters long, fine sand and very clean beaches have made Racó de Mar deserve the fame it has. It is the closest thing to a Caribbean getaway on the coast of Valencia! Learn more about Canet de Berenguer here.
Boat ride on the Albufera of Valencia

Just ten kilometers from the city of Valencia is the Albufera Natural Park. It is one of the most special wetland ecosystems you can find in the world. Its large freshwater lake is the largest in Spain, and up to 300 different species of birds live in its surroundings. And the rice fields make it even more unique, because the landscape changes according to the rice growing cycle. The pine forests and the dunes that separate the Albufera from the sea complete this magnificent place.
To enjoy it to the fullest, a boat ride in the Albufera is an unforgettable experience. You will be able to discover the fauna of the area from the albuferencs, the traditional boats. And, if you do it at sunset, the beauty is multiplied.
Routes along the Turia

With more than 9 kilometers walkable, the Turia Garden is the most valued green space in the city of Valencia. It is the old riverbed, which was diverted into a new one after a flood, and now a beautiful landscape with gardens, picnic areas, running tracks and bike paths in which to breathe clean air and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the city. Rent a bike to ride through what is one of the largest urban parks in Spain and pass museums and monuments such as the City of Arts and Sciences at the beginning of the route, the Bioparc at the end, and of course the natural gems you will find along the way, with many varieties of plant species.
In addition, the Turia Garden is wonderful for pedaling with the family and spend an unforgettable day with the little ones, instilling in them the value of healthy living and care for nature.
Water parks in Valencia
Who does not remember with a smile the water park days of our childhood? In Valencia, summer is enjoyed soaking in the water, and doing it with extra fun makes it even better. Children and adults will have a great time in water parks in Valencia such as Aquopolis in Cullera, one of the best known in the province.
You can also enjoy the water with nautical activities such as surfing, paddle surfing, kayaking and sailing in some of the best ports on the coast, such as the Club Náutico Canet d’en Berenguer or the Marina de València.
Fairs and festivals in Valencia
Valencia is also known for its way of celebrating everything, especially in summer. Its fiestas and festivals liven up the summer season with music, fireworks and lots of laughter. For example, in August the famous Tomatina is held in the town of Buñol. A festival that has achieved international fame in which thousands of people throw tomatoes at each other. Also great are the Festa de les Alfàbegues de Bétera, with basil over 2 meters high, confetti rain and fireworks.
